Effort Drainers

Effort Drainers

Six Activities to Avoid

Everyone wants things to go there way, to be as easy as possible, or at the very least easier. It’s sometimes ironic how the longer you have worked with or on something the more complicated or time consuming it can become. In order to do so we need to isolate what can be considered as effort drainers, and eliminate them or at least shave down the time we spend on them.

In order to improve upon this we need to focus on stopping the process of doing “more”. To do this we need to take a close look at where we are spending our time and energy and respond by doing two things; staying focused on what matters most and always returning to the fundamentals.

In my experience there are quite a few distractions to avoid but through some amount of discernment I narrowed the list down to six which we can focus on in order to make our jobs and lives easier.

  1. Over-Processing
  2. Waiting
  3. Editing
  4. Motion
  5. Inventory
  6. Transportation

While all six may not be problems for you individually it may be wise to analyze them each individually to be able to isolate where you can eliminate redundancies as well as increase the time you will have available to pursue you original goal: which is to make sales and to expand your customer base.
